Mumbai, Aug 14: Palghar city will be observing five days complete lockdown from Friday after over 100 positive coronavirus cases were reported in the last three days.
All shops, markets including fish and meat markets will be completely shut. However, medical, dairy and flour mills will be allowed to function. All industrial units, except those manufacturing essential products, will not be allowed to operate.
Restaurants conducting home delivery services will also be shut.
The lockdown will be relaxed for a few hours on Independence Day so that people can hoist flags while adhering to social distancing and wearing of masks.
Amid the five-day lockdown, private vehicles are banned from plying on the roads. Fuel stations are not permitted to sell fuel to private vehicles. Banks and post offices will be open with tokens given to customers.
