Bantwal, Aug 17: Activists of a local organization have orally complained to the rural police station here, drawing the attention of the authorities to the fact that the tricolour was hoisted upside down on the next day of Independence Day and it was not lowered till nightfall.

The national flag referred above had been hoisted on Sunday, August 16 morning at Maninalkur gram panchayat located within the rural police station limits. The green panel of the flag was saffron at the bottom with green at the top. The flag was also flittering till about 8 pm, the activists told the rural police.

The police were also informed that the locals together brought the flag down on their own. More information will come out after the officials investigate the incident that is a clear violation of the Flag Code.

Their only intention was flag hoisting In fact they may not be
Knowing saffron color should be up. If they have done it with a purpose
then they're traitors and their conscience won't permit them to
    say they're Bharath Deshwasies.
