422 test Covid positive, J&K tally reaches nearly 29,000


Srinagar, Aug 17 (IANS): Four hundred and twenty two people tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on Monday as the number of people infected with coronavirus came close to 29,000 in the Union Territory.

A statement by the Information and Public Relations department on Monday said that 422 people tested positive, of which 81 were from Jammu division and 341 from Kashmir division.

So far, 28,892 people have been infected with coronavirus in J&K of which 548 have died while 21,292 have recovered.

Six patients died on Monday while 353 were discharged from different hospitals after recovery.

The number of active cases is now 7,048 in J&K, of which 1586 were from Jammu division and 5,462 were from Kashmir division.
