Bengaluru: 'I was just reciprocating sacrilegious post about Hindu gods' - Naveen

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Aug 17: Naveen, a nephew of Pulikeshi Nagar Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy, who has been blamed for fomenting disturbances by making a derogatory post about the Prophet on Facebook, has clarified that he had not created any post on his own to target anyone. "I had just passed a comment for certain posts created by other people," he said during his interrogation.

Giving clarifications to queries made to him about the derogatory post, Naveen asserted to the police that he had posted his comment to certain posts made by certain persons where Hindu gods and goddesses were insulted. He said he had just responded to these posts by way of comment.

"After I posted the comment, Akhanda Srinivas Murthy asked me to delete it. Accordingly, I had deleted what I had posted. I had commented for a post created by Firoze Khan, who was the mastermind behind the disturbances. I had searched for images via Google for passing the comment I wanted to make. I copied an image from there and posted in the comment box," he stated.

Naveen clarified that in the past, he had made some comments on ruckus created by vandals in Padarayanapura, and also when anti-CAA and NRC protests were held. "I have just commented on the posts made by others. On my own, I have never created any posts. On the occasion of laying the foundation stone for Ram Janmabhoomi, I had distributed sweets and burst crackers. At that time, I had received threatening calls from unknown numbers. Miscreants had called me to pose threats to my life," he alleged.

Naveen, recalling earlier incidents, said that he did not get bogged down by such threat calls. The police have recorded his statements.

Whatever happened is really not good for the society. Govt has decided to recover the damages from the miscreants. that is a good precedent. Let us all live in peace and harmony. Our India is a great country, let us all countrymen understand that.

This MLA is a recent entrant to Congress... He was JDS MLA in previous term... apparently he sensed that the chance to win is possible only from Congress and not from JDS/BJP... so he jumped to Congress for Muslim vote bank and won by huge margin...Does not appear that he knows history of Congress...

Problem with "jumping" politicians is they do not care which party stands for what... so this mess... his nephew forgot which his uncle was in...and created this mess...

Yes... Naveen.... but you already done the damage enough

One thing we need to understand by all that.... abusive or wrong doing of one person or group of people will not do any damage to any GOD or any religion.... Whom we are to make any damage to any GOD???

If you believe in GOD.... then leave it up to him to take care of those people

When no one is punished , and even after murder one gets bail, criminals get an upper hand.Punishment should be quick and severe.Like faceless assessment in Income tax there should be a "faceless" trial in criminal cases, where neither party knows the other as a random number becomes the only identity of the accused, a judge in another state would be delivering the judgment. But for this laws will have to be amended.

There are Lacs of posts in Socail Media that are derogatory to one religion or other. Some people confirming to certain religion take it too seriously. This was not required.

Whenever someone threatens someone else a a police complaint is lodged, it comes under section 506 of IPC ,as it is a non cognizable offence , nothing is done by the police unless one goes to court, which people avoid because of unending delay in getting justice. This rule has to be amended and threat should be made a cognizable offence- only then major untoward incidents can be prevented. The police on thier part also should take some preventive action and keep a close watch on the activities of the person who gave the threat. My suggestion is not restricted to this case but to all cases where a person is threatened.

Why is Naveen responsible ? He did the right thing defending his faith. Even I would call 1000words against any religion if a person offends mine. Give respect and take respect is mutual and not insided . Reservation policy doesn’t give right for anyone to offend Hindu belief and Gods . It’s not done.
