Mangaluru: St Agnes College observes Librarians' Day


Mangaluru, Aug 18: “Application of Information Technology in libraries will help to serve the users even in the pandemic situation,” said Sr Dr Venissa A C, the principal of St Agnes College, Autonomous after inaugurating the Librarians’ Day celebration organized by the department of Library and Information, St Agnes College, Autonomous, here.

She motivated the support staff to use the available resources and enhance their knowledge. Chief librarian, Dr Vishala B K welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the day. She briefed on Padmashree DR S R Ranganathan and his contribution to the Library and Information Science field.

During the programme, Nirmala Shenoy who superannuated after serving for more than 40 years in the library was felicitated.



 

Sr Carmel Rita AC, administrator, Sr Dr Vinora A C, PG coordinator, Sr Roopa AC, vice-principal were present. Christal Nisha Mascarenhas compered the programme. During the programme, the support staff also put up a small entertainment programme.
