Mangaluru: Shaky ministerial position? Kota Poojary rushes to Delhi

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Aug 18: The state ministry is expected to be expanded and reorganized shortly. Therefore, many are lobbying for becoming ministers. Amidst these things, minster Kota Srinivas Poojary, has left for Delhi all of a sudden.

It is said that out of four MLAs, Sunil Kumar from Karkala, Halady Srinivas Shetty from Kundapur and S Angara from Sullia, two will be made ministers. Therefore, it is being analysed that Kota Srinivas Poojary has visited Delhi in a hurry to save his position. Kota has gone to Delhi apparently to get approval for his department's projects worth Rs 1,100 crore including Byndoor Marine Project. In addition, he is also equipped with his plans and achievements to convince the high command about his value to the government and need to continue him as a member of the state ministry.

Kota Srinivas Poojary

Kota will be meeting Narendra Singh Tomar in his effort to save his seat. On Wednesday, he will be meeting union minister Prahlad Joshi, and national BJP organizing general secretary B L Santhosh. It is said that he has been also trying to get an appointment to meet BJP national president J P Nadda.

Dont worry Srinivas Sir . This time BJP has less or 120 seats and few were from other parties who later joined BJP hence this bit complicated . Next time BJP will get 180 seats that time u and many others from Dk Udupi will be.

I know him personally from last 23 years as he owned small scale business next to property I own (immediate neighbor) at Kodi-Kanyana; Kota. He is an honest, good, intelligent person in service. I would like to see him continuing in Karnataka cabinet.

Mr. Kota is less politician and more of implementation person, he worked relentlessly. I doubt anybody in the party respect/listens to him.

Every minister should learn a lot from him. he speaks less and delivers most of the work given to him.

A true gentleman and hope he continues with his good work !!!

After oberving political game presently going in in Karnataka that too during the difficult times of epidemic, I just remembered value based politics we have seen in 89-90's by great politicianex -CM and Janatha Party leader late Sri Ramakrishna Hedge ji who coined a slogan for state governance ...I.e. ,
    "ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ಆಡಳಿತ ದಿಲ್ಲಿಯಿಂದಲ್ಲ..ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದಲೇ...." which speaks volumes ...
Nobody can match his political intelligence ,stewardship in the present times.....

100% True. Karnataka saw a Non-Congress Govt at the time such a Notoriously glamorous PM we have at Centre. Ramakrishna Hegde brought that concept of Value based Politics to Reality. Karnataka lost an opportunity to see him as PM because of disturbing politics of Raagi Mudde makkalu.

Now... The achievement of Kota before becoming Minister is ZERO. He is a Leader by MOUTH. Leader by work is still working there and getting elected by people always. If people are poor do something to lift them up. Making or arranging marriages are not govts job. Let social service organizations do it. I doubt a large number of shawls stocked up at his house.

That was during earlier Congress rule.
Now we have honest politicians like Kota Poojary, who work for the people without pocketing commissions.

    there are many ways...

    1. have dummy companies (owned fully / partly by the politician) take up projects...

    2. take kickback from the contractors / companies awarded contracts under the project...

    3. get the company to raise bill for a much higher amount than actual expenses... suppose 50 crores contract, contractor will do poor quality / sham jobs costing may be 20 crores and raise bill for 50 crores (difference of 30 crores will be "makkardha thukkardha" between politicians and contractors

there may be many more methods...

these are general, not specific to any politician/contractor or project...
