Strong Earthquake Jolts Papua New Guinea Coast


Sydney, March 21 (Xinhua) A strong earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted the Papua New Guinea's coast Saturday, according to the US Geological Survey, Xinhua reported.

The earthquake occurred at 1400 GMT. The epicentre was located about 100 km north of the New Ireland Region and at a depth of 423 km, the USGS said.

There was no immediate tsunami warning.
