Mangaluru, Aug 19: District Congress president Harish Kumar said, "The state and central government both have failed to tackle coronavirus pandemic.”

Addressing media here on Wednesday August 19, Harish Kumar said, "The state and central government have not been able to tackle coronavirus pandemic and are involved in corruption in the name of pandemic. In the name of Corona, PM Cares fund was introduced. Instead of spending it to coronavirus, it is being spent for their own party expenses.

The Prime Minister’s Office should reveal the details how the PM Cares fund was spent. Why the government is not ready to reveal the details about public money?

“Even the law and order in the state is not maintained by the government. Why there was no precautionary measure taken by the police as they knew that there was going to be violence,” he asked.

District Youth Congress president Mithun Rai said, "It has come to my notice that the officials of Urban Development department are opting for voluntary transfer due to the harassment by the Urban Development minister. It is also alleged that with the help of officials, the minister is into extortion. If the minister is interested in extortion, let him take money from BJP workers. Why need to trouble the officials?”

He also urged to reveal the call details of the personal assistant to the minister so that there will be clarity regarding this allegation.

He further said, "Three days ago, we met deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra and urged him to allow some registered organisation to conduct Ganesh Chathurthi festival by taking all kind of preventive measures such as wearing mask, social distance and sanitizing and with a gathering of 50 people.”

    Santan,

I partly disagree with you here...this is a new Virus...it took some months to even advanced Countries like US to understand this Virus fully and determine measures to stop the spread of Virus...

Democratic countries cannot use draconian measures on its people...like China done on its own people...moreover since Virus was first found in China ..they started lock down earlier than other countries...

Do you want to live in a Country like China with no Freedom of speech, movement ???....I hope not...

Your logic is same as saying...if Nathuram Godse's father did not married his mother,,, Gandhiji would not have assassinated...things are not that simple as that...

Could Indian Government performed better in handling COVID-19 Virus???...Absolutely YES...

3 of them in the pictures above are demonstrating the correct usage of masks. If the governments are not taking the right steps, please educate our citizens on what the right measures should be.
The transparency & progress achieved of their successive governments in central and state is definitely a high benchmark.
Organizing Ganesh Chaturthi like in the past is a step in the right direction when the virus is looming and threatening to create chaos in our twin districts.
