Udupi, Mar 22: The department of commerce, Manipal University organized two-day workshop on Investment planning and portfolio management on Saturday March 20 and Sunday March 21.

Vineet Balhotra, cluster branch manager, ICICI Bank Ltd, Manipal delivered the inaugural speech. He gave vital tips to enhance employability of upcoming graduates and analyzed the gap existing between classroom theories and practical application of it.

Prof Ajay Shah, head and co-ordinator, department of commerce addressed the gathering. Programme co-ordinator Guru Prasad Rao, faculties Raghavendra Rao and Smitha Shetty among others were present on the occasion.

The workshop aimed at equipping students with concept of financial planning and to know about the fund selection process for better portfolio management and also to create ability among the students to advise and appreciate wealth management. The workshop also aims at giving inputs to the students which may help them study for AMFI examinations, which has been made mandatory by many of the major players in banking industry.
