Mangaluru: Brothel operated from hotel - Two held, three women rescued

Mangaluru, Aug 21: The police have arrested two men and rescued three women, who were involved with alleged prostitution racket being run from a lodge at Pumpwell in the city. The arrests were made on Thursday August 20.

The arrested accused happen to be Harish Shetty (45) from Kadandale, and Sagar (40), resident of Bolwar, Puttur.

The raid was conducted by the police on the basis of reliable information about a sex racket being active there.

Harish Shetty happens to be an employee of the lodge while Sagar used to function as pimp, the police claimed. The operation was jointly conducted by the personnel of Kadri station, city crime branch, and women's police station in the city.
