Mangaluru: The Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce & Management holds Saare Jahan Se Accha

Mangaluru, Aug 21: Rotaract Club of The Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce & Management- a constituent unit of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) celebrated 'Saare Jahan Se Accha- Virtual Music Concert' on August 17.

This programme was organized on the occasion of Independence Day. More than 100 students participated in the programme through online mode. Velita Sibon Lobo, a well-known singer, was the chief guest for the programme.

The programme commenced by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song sung by YIASCM faculty members. Mohammed Ahdal, Rotaract treasurer, welcomed everyone. The Rotaract coordinators Mervin Vas, Lakshmi B M and Carol Noronha inaugurated the programme by singing Saare Jahan Se Accha song.



Dr Parvadhavardhini Gopalakrishnan, principal, addressed the attendees and encouraged the initiative taken by the Rotaract Club. In her message, she stressed on the importance of a holistic development by discovering new ideas and camaraderie. Achieving degrees is not sufficient but cultural activities like these will create a platform for students to showcase their talents. She extended her best wishes to all the participants. The programme was a blend of singing by YIASCM faculty and students, melodies Yen Band and special performance by Velita Lobo.

Dr Shareena P, vice-principal, in her message, encouraged the students to participate in the upcoming programmes. The programme was compered by Nashwa Iqbal, the Rotaract representative. Mervin Vas rendered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
