The thirty first annual day celebration of metro-based Veera Kesari Kala Vranda was held at Vishweshwarayya Auditorium of Karnataka Sangh, Matunga (West) here, recently.
 
Veera Kesari Kala Vranda president Ramesh K Shetty presided.

Kanchan Cultural Foundation – Bahrain president Leeladhar Baikampady, Powai Kannada Sangh former president Sudhakar Poojary, Kandivali Kannada Sangh founder member Nagesh Sanil and Goregaon Karnataka Sangh honorary chief secretary Padmaja Mannoor were felicitated at the programme.

Entrepreneur Suresh Shetty Bellary, Billava Jagrati Balaga vice-president K Bhojaraj, Bunts Association vice-president Shyam N Shetty, Mumbai High Court renowned lawyer Gunakar Shetty, Mogaveera Bank chairman Keerthiraj K Salian and social worker and veteran hotelier Vittal K Shetty were the chief guests.
 
Speaking on the occasion, entrepreneur Suresh Shetty Bellary said that societal progress is achieved through committed social welfare and voluntary organizations, who promote secularism. He lauded the efforts of Veera Kesari Kala Vranda for promoting art and folklore among children.
 
Ramesh Shivapur compered the programme.
 
The artistes of Veera Kesari Kala Vranda staged Tulu play ‘Tanike’, by playwright Satish N Bangera and directed by Naveen K Karkera.  The artistes of Powai Kannada Sangh and Gurukula staged Kannada one-act play, Dolu, by playwright and directed by Nagaraj Gurpur, as part of cultural programmes.
