Mangalore: Inter-Collegiate IT fest at AIMIT Beeri on Mar 25

Mangalore, Mar 25:  The post graduate department of Information technology comprising MCA, MS (software technology), M Sc (Bioinformatics) and PGDCA, St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT) will hold a National-level inter-collegiate IT fest ‘EpITome 10’ on Thursday March 25.

Dr A M Narahari, registrar of St Aloysius College and member- University Reforms Committee, government of Karnataka will be the chief guest. Fr Joseph Rodrigues SJ, rector of St Aloysius College will preside.

Students from fifteen colleges across India will compete with eachother in a healthy and sportive environment, putting their skill to test.

The motto of epitome is ‘Conquering Heights.’  The theme of the event is to attain the highest standard in specialized endeavors. There are plethoras of events ranging from programming contest, puzzle, best manager, web design, gaming events and so on.
The fest will be conducted from Thursday March 25 to Friday March 26.

As a part of the fest the department is organizing an IT and Life Science Exhibition, ‘InfoVision 10’ aiming at showcasing the talents of youngsters in information technology, bioinformatics and life science on Wednesday March 24.

Praveen Kalabavi, senior delivery manager, Infosys Technologies, Kottara, here will inaugurate the exhibition and Fr Dr Leo D’Souza SJ, director of Applied Biology Research Center of St Aloysius College will preside.

In the exhibition, IT segment student can exhibit software and hardware projects, simulations and IT based models. Life sciences display will contain working and non working biological models. More than 150 models will be displayed in this exhibition.  Infovision 10 also has a Book Exhibition on information technology, life sciences, management, and general books for every person. The exhibition is open for all the
students from various schools, colleges and to the general public.

The valedictory function will be held at 5.00 pm on Friday March 26. MLA U T Khadar will be the chief guest and Fr Swebert D’Silva SJ, principal of St Aloysius College will preside.
