Rajasthan Royals Post 20th IPL Win


Mohali, March 25 (IANS) Rajasthan Royals, with their 31-run over Kings XI Punjab here Wednesday night, became the first Indian Premier League (IPL) team to post 20 wins.

Royals, the 2008 champions, have won 20 of the 34 IPL matches they have played with a wining percentage of 60.29 percent. Thet lost 13 matches and tied one.

The other statistical highlights of the Wednesday match are:

Punjab became the first team to post four defeats, placing themselves at the bottom of the table with a minus net run rate 0.533.

Yuvraj (15 off 13 balls) has recorded another failure in the third edition of IPL. In 2009, he managed just 75 runs at an average of 15.00.

Yusuf Pathan, Robin Uthappa and Matthew Hayden have recorded 11 sixes each in the present competition.

Yuvraj has completed his 700 runs during the aforesaid innings and his aggregate of 714 runs at an average of 23.80 in 34 matches is the best for Punjab in IPL.

Shaun Tait (3/22) has recorded his best bowling performance. His overall bowling record in Twenty20 is excellent, claiming 46 wickets at 16.17 runs apiece in 27 matches.

Rajasthan Royals have posted their second victory in five games in the third edition of IPL, moving into the fifth place.

Adam Voges' unbeaten 45 is his best innings.

Michael Lumb and Naman Ojha were associated in a partnership of 35 - Rajasthan Royals' highest for the opening wicket in seven innings in IPL.

Lumb (41 off 30 balls) posted his highest innings. Faiz Fazal (45 off 38 balls) posted his highest innings in IPL.

Sangakkara (29 off 13 balls) has posted his highest innings in the 2010 edition of IPL. His average is 15.25 in five games, aggregating 61 runs in four innings.

Sangakkara, during the course of his aforesaid innings, has completed his 700 runs in IPL - 713 (ave.29.70), including six fifties, in 29 matches.
