Karkala, Aug 28: Dr Vijesh V, associate professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering, NMAM Institute of Technology, NITTE received Rs 6,76,471 from AICTE for his project entitled ‘Investigation on Methods to Reduce Smut Formation in Wire-Arc-Additive Manufacturing of Aluminium Alloys’ under the Research Promotion Scheme (RPS).
Using the grant, the research will be carried out on the above said project and also the effect of process parameters such as wire-speed, gas flow rate, current, deposition speed and metal transfer mode will be studied by the researcher.
NMAMIT established NMAMIT-Fronius Centre for Welding Technology in 2018, where consultancy services are being provided for the industry.
