Beltangady, Aug 30: The MCom department of Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar organized a national level webinar on the topic 'Personal Finance and Money Management' on August 28.

Sapna Shenoy and investment service professional, freelance trainer and area director of Toastmasters International Club was the resource person.



Nelson Monis, lecturer of PG department welcomed and introduced the resource person to the participants. The resource person explained why personal finance is important, the difference between equity and debts and how the savings are to be invested in the short term, medium-term and long term. Through various examples, she explained the returns from various portfolios and how to manage the money that is earned. The resource person also threw light on the fluctuations of the security market over a period of time.

The webinar lasted for one and a half hours and was very informative. More than 140 students took active part in the session. It received a great appreciation from the audience. The presentation concluded with a Q&A session. Nelson Monis delivered the vote of thanks.
