Bantwal: Man dies, two youngsters injured after building wall collapses

Bantwal, Aug 30: A man died and two youngsters sustained injuries after a wall of an old building collapsed at Madikodi in Ammunje here on Sunday August 30.

The deceased has been identified as Janardhan Anchan (35), son of Neelayya Poojary, a resident of Shamboor here.

Vrushabh (11) and Suraj (20) escaped with minor injuries.

It is learnt that work was in progress at a religious centre here to raze a wall of an old building here.

During the work, a heavy stone from the wall fell on Janardhan, causing critical injuries.

He was rushed to hospital, but he breathed his last on the way, locals said.

Bantwal rural police SI Sanjeev K and other police personnel visited the spot and registered a case.
