Wellington, Sep 1 (IANS): New Zealand on Tuesday reported 14 new Covid-19 cases, taking the overall infections registered in the country to 1,401, according to the Ministry of Health.
Of the new cases, nine were in managed isolation facilities and five all clearly epidemiologically linked to the Auckland family cluster, reports Xinhua news agency.
The nine cases in managed isolation facilities comprise five in Christchurch, three in Auckland and one in Wellington, reports Xinhua news agency.
Auckland entered a lower level of Covid-19 restrictions on Monday, allowing people to get in and out of the city, sparking concerns of further spreading the virus as some residents flew to resorts such as Queenstown in the South Island.
Face coverings became compulsory on public transport across New Zealand from Monday.
