Udupi, Mar 28:
The renovation rituals of Kaup Sri Laxmi Janardhana Temple started on Saturday March 27 with the ‘Hore Kanike’ procession from Kaup Bangle Maidan.

The Hore Kanike, collected from devotees of Kaup Padu, Koppalangadi, Muloor, Mallur, and Uliyargoli villages under the leadership of village committees, was brought to the temple in a procession. MLA Lalaji R Mendon inaugurated the procession in the presence of other guests.

The temple has been renovated at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore and will have a ‘Brahmakalashostava’. The programme will end on Thursday April 1.

Former minister Vasanth V Salian, office-bearers of renovation committee Jayarama Hedge, Kaup Divakar Shetty, and Gangadhar Suvarna were present during the procession.

Ya, it looks a very traditional and nice procession. All 'muttaide's participating with Kalasha in procession. Could you please ask them if widows can join this poorna kumbha savagatha ceremony? Please stop all these manu vadi rituals for god's sake.
