Kundapur, Sep 1: Three male calves were found to be illegally transported in a Bolero vehicle at Janata Colony, Kavradi village on Tuesday, September 1.

Kundapur rural sub inspector Ravish Holla was taking rounds at around 5.30 in the morning when a two-wheeler and a black Bolero recklessly approached from Kavradi Doopadakatte inner road. The two-wheeler did not stop when asked to halt. The Bolero behind it then stopped by the side of the road and the driver fled the scene with his counterpart who was also in the vehicle.

The driver is said to be a resident at Kandlur identified as Samir with his accomplice Mutalib. The two men in the four-wheeler had tied and dumped three male calves in an inhuman manner in the vehicle.

It appeared that the accused had stolen the cattle and were transporting to slaughter them. While all the three accused escaped, a case in this connection was registered at Kundapur rural police station.
