Mangaluru, Sep 1: Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and Government of Karnataka issued specific instructions on Tuesday to all the international passengers returning to Mangaluru.

As per the instructions, Indian citizens returning to the city will be mandatorily required to fill Air Suvidha self-reporting form on --https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/APHO-registration

However, the passengers are asked to register before they report to the airport to board Air India Express flights.

MoCA, MoHFW and Govt of Karnataka further directed that all the passengers are required to download three apps on their smartphones -- Aarogya Setu app, Quarantine Watch and Apthamitra.

Additional instructions to be followed by the passengers:

1. An active local Indian SIM
2. If a passenger does not have a local SIM, they must ask their family members or relatives to get a local SIM. The SIM should already be activated before the travellers arrive Mangaluru.
3. The passengers can also buy new SIM cards at the airport.

These new guidelines are good for international passengers returning to Mangalore. But I don't understand why MoCA, MoHFW, and also the Government of Karnataka keep changing them at he las minute. Also these guidelines is a hard time for some passengers. With these changes some passengers will have a tough time.

This is ONLY for returnees coming by the special repatriation flights.

All REGULAR international flights are halted till September end, which can be extended anytime further.

So these "rules" will change OR removed when the "REGULAR" flights are back in operation.

I don't understand MoCA, MoHFW and he Government of Karnataka keep changing the guidelines for passengers returning to Mangalore at the last minute . It makes difficult for some passengers to even follow it.

Point No 2 buy local sim or arrange sim from relatives is not very practical. Better make free wifi facility at the airport arrival and make mandatory to buy local sim at the airport as well.
