Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 29: The man arrested for planting a bomb in the cargo section of a Kingfisher flight operating between Bangalore and the city, has been identified as Rajashekharan Nair (49), a retired soldier of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). He had been working as an employee of a private firm that attends to jobs of airlines on contract basis, the policemen said.
They added that Nair has admitted to his crime. He was arrested from near Naravamoodu near here, two days ago, they added.
Nair had voluntarily retired from CISF in 2003, and had then joined Universal Aviation Private Services, which has been handling contract works in the airport, it is learnt. The policemen zeroed in on him, after subjecting over 100 persons including security staff, to interrogation.
The investigators are yet to find out from Nair the exact purpose behind the planting of the crude bomb. He is being interrogated for extracting more details.
