Mangaluru: St Agnes College (Autonomous) observes National Sports Day

Mangaluru, Sep 4: The department of Physical Education of St Agnes College (Autonomous), here, recently organized a ‘Walk for Fit India’ to celebrate the National Sports Day.

The activity- ‘Walk for fit India’ included a walk/run of 3km in and around the comfortable zone for the participants and to record the distance using any app.

Many participants took part in the event and celebrated the National Sports Day.

Participants appreciated the efforts of the college and complimented the principal, Sr Dr M Venissa A C and the organizer Vasudha S, physical education director, St Agnes College (autonomous) for taking an initiative to commemorate this day in a very unique way.

Every year on August 29, India celebrates its National Sports Day. The day is celebrated to honour the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand Singh. This day is observed to spread awareness on the importance of sports and daily activities in everyone's life.
