Kundapur, Mar 31: A woman died after the vehicle in which she was travelling, overturned near Arehole Cross in Navunda in the taluk on Tuesday March 30.
The Maruti Wagon-R vehicle, in which the woman was seated, was moving towards Udyavar near Udupi from Bhatkal. When the car approached Arehole Cross, the driver lost control of the vehicle, as a result of which, the car overturned. B B Hajira (60) from Bhatkal, who was to get treatment at Udyavar hospital, sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.
Other members of her family, Shameema (32), Khairunnisa (36) and Fatima Rooman (26) were injured. Ilafa (2) and the car driver escaped unhurt.
