Udupi: Teacher's Day celebrated at Flowers of Paradise Public School

Udupi, Sep 7: The Teacher’s Day celebrations at Flowers of Paradise School, Malpe was held here honouring the teachers and offering tributes to late Madhava Jathanna of Malpe popularly known as a model teacher, who had made several contributions in the educational sector in Malpe.

School director of education Yasin Malpe said that the respect teachers receive in society is too less compared to the service and contributions made by the teachers.



“Late Madhava Jathanna, a model teacher passed away by giving away whatever a teacher can give to society. A high school and an English medium school in Malpe are his biggest contributions. Master Madhava should be a model to all of our teachers,” he said.

Udaya Kumar Salian of Yashaswi Fish Mill who was the chief guest felicitated Madhava master’s daughter Anjana Devi and brother Navinchandra Jathanna with a plaque inscribed with the name of Madhava Jathanna. Malpe Education Trust member Ustad Usman Kodavoor spoke on the context. School headmistress Shwetha Prashanth Shetty gave an introduction. A documentary on Madhava Jathanna was shown in the beginning. Primary school headmistress Sahana Anil gave details of the documentary. Head of Arabic education, Maulana Imranulla Khan gave the concluding speech.

Teacher Jaffer Ali, who immensely contributed towards the excellent performance of students in SSLC Hindi examination was honoured. Winners of an online quiz held for teachers during the lockdown were presented with the prizes - Samya Saleem and Munavvara were the recipients. School students sang a song praising the service of the teachers. President of the Trust F M Abdurrazak gave away memento to the guests. Trust members Khateeb Althaf, T Khuraishi and Firoz were present. Teacher Naushin welcomed the gathering while Jyothi rendered the vote of thanks. Martina compered the programme.
