Education for all is Modi govt's mission: Amit Shah

New Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that the Central government has been working tirelessly to achieve the goal set by Prime Minister's "Education for All" mission.

Greeting the nation on the International Literacy Day on Tuesday, the Minister said the government is trying to achieve the goal through reforms like New Education Policy 2020, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and many more such initiatives.

"Our government under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been empowering the children and working tirelessly towards its mission 'Education for All' through reforms like NEP, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan," Shah tweeted.

The Minister said the International Literacy Day 2020 focuses on "Literacy teaching and learning in the COVID-19 crisis and beyond", especially on the role of educators and changing pedagogies.

The theme highlights literacy learning in a lifelong learning perspective, and therefore, mainly focuses on youth and adults, he said. September 8 was declared International Literacy Day by UNESCO on October 26, 1966 at the 14th session of UNESCO's General conference. It was celebrated for the first time in 1967. Its aim is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies.

Nep is indeed a great initiative of the Modi government. It is also long awaited. But the lacunae remains in the training of Teachers especially in the early childhood care and education sector since government has not yet identified the training agencies for Ecce as it has done for primary, secondary and higher education. I request the respected government officials to look into the pg diploma in Ecce offered in home science institute and if found suitable declare these as agencies for training of new and existing teachers.
Ecce has taken into account the development aspects for care as well as curriculum aspects for education through play based approach. It is a unique course and the government is already having the resources to train the huge amount of teachers in Anganwadi, Balwadi, or pre-primary schools.
I hope you shall look into the matter and do the needful.
Thanking you in advance Sir/ Madam

It should be education for all the Netas first. Due to many of the under qualified leaders, India's GDP is going in big minus.

'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao'. Does he know what he is saying????????.....Being a union home minster how many Betis he has Bachaod, rendered justice and Padhaod????????....
BTW, who are the highly qualified educationists in his cabinet who have designed this NEP 2020????????......Modi's idea of new education policy is laughable he says this new policy teaches how to think rather than what to think. FYI Modi both are complimentary to each other without specifically thinking about what to think you can not think how to think about a particular subject because you yourself do not do none of this nor your ministers, somebody else is doing the thinking for you. The results of your new innovative education policy and your new thinking reflects on the economic numbers, country's financial situation and unsuccessful development in corona cases.
