Mangalore: Valentine D’Souza, Prakash among Six Chosen for CM’s Gold Medal

Mangalore, Apr 1: Six police personnel including Panamboor police inspector Valentine D’Souza and Mangalore rural sub-inspector Prakash from Karnoor, Puttur have been nominated for the Chief Minister’s Gold Medal.

Sub-inspector Sunil Kumar from Bondel, superintendent of police special investigation squad, police constables of District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB), Adoor Chandra, Dinesh Bekal and Chethan Botyadi are the other officials selected for the honour.

D'Souza has been nominated for the honour for his organizational ability in maintaining law and order in Kavoor, Panambur and Bajpe police station limits with co-operation from colleagues and sub-ordinates.

DCIB police proved their capability with the arrest of accomplices of Rashid Malabari, Ravi Poojary and Chota Shakeel among others, while SP's special squad had handled over 18 cases with aplomb including encounter of criminal Sardar.

I have been reading about your honst work from atleast 10 years and fianally a Govt has ackonwledged your sincere efforts to upkeep the peace and justice in our society. I still remember the incident when you had taken to task the then Udupi MLA and the ruling Congress had punished you.     It is really exciting,wonderful to read this news of you being chosen for the CM's Gold Metal Award.Hats off Mr.Valentine....This award should have been announced in the 90's when you and your team managed to catch the robbers involved in series of thefts in and around udupi city limits.You are a gentleman & very much approachable person among the police officials.Based on my experience/face to face chat, you listen to peoples problems and guide them for a better solution.
