Udupi: ‘Brahmakalashotsava’ Concludes at Sri Laxmi Janardhan Temple

Udupi, Apr 1: “Family is the fortress of Hinduism and religious centres should inspire people to take an interest in spirituality by bringing together all brethren in society. The children should be well-cultured and spiritually enlightened. The heads of worship centres should come forward to create a corruption-free society”, urged Sri Esha Vittaldas Swami of Kemar Sandhipani Sadhanashram.
Swami Vittaldas was speaking at the religious session held at Sri Laxmi Janardhan temple, Kaup, on Thursday April 1, during the ‘Brahmakalashotsava’ celebration.
He also urged parents to curb excess use of communication tools and computers which are likely to distract the studies of their children.
MLA Raghupati Bhat, former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, Belgaum hotelier Raghuram Shetty, Udupi–Chikmagalur MP D V Sadanand Gowda, Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, Uliyargoli gram panchayat president Ramesh Shetty Kalya, Annavar Shankar Shetty, and Dr Chandra R Shetty were the chief guests on the occasion.
Temple renovation committee honorary president B R Shetty, Abu Dhabi, presided over the programme.
Building committee president Vasudev Shetty, office-bearers Kaup Divakar Shetty, K Vishwanath, Balakrishna Shetty, and Shashidar Shetty Nadikare were present on the dais.
Neelanand Naik compered the programme.
Brahmakalashotsava was held with pomp and gaiety at the temple on Thursday night.
The free food offering of the day was donated by the residents of Kaup–Padu village. Hundreds and thousands of devotees witnessed the grand Vedic rituals held at the temple.
A flute concert by internationally-acclaimed musician Praveen Godkindi was held after the Brahmakalashotsava at 8.00 pm on Thursday.
Various cultural programmes including folk arts were held in the evenings from Tuesday March 27 at the temple.
