Mangaluru: St Aloysius PU College welcomes fresh I, II PUC students in orientation programme

Mangaluru, Sep 10: St Aloysius PU College organized an orientation programme for the newly admitted I PU students as well as the II PU students.

The programme began by invoking the blessings of God by the college choir. Vandana Bhaskar, the president of the Student Council welcomed the students.

The students were later addressed by Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, the rector of St Aloysius Institutions, who encouraged the students to focus on the three aspects of life that is, Academic Excellence, Character Formation and Social Concern.

The principal, Fr Clifford Sequeira SJ, motivated the students to invest time in developing talents and honing skills as this would help them become balanced individuals.

Mahesh Nayak, the executive editor of Mangalore Today and Sandra Sunitha Lobo, the associate professor and head of the department of Psychology, School of Social Work, Roshini Nilaya, Mangaluru were the resource persons of I PU and II PU respectively.

Mahesh Nayak congratulated the I PU students on their success in completing SSLC and being fortunate to be a part of a great Jesuit institution which has enormous experience and expertise in education. He also made a visual presentation on the steps to success.

Sandra Sunitha Lobo, spoke to the II PU students about online classes and the tips to prepare themselves for the challenges of e-learning.

Pre-recorded videos of the orientation programme were shared in the virtual classes.

Blanche Rodrigues, secretary of the student council proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was compered by Sasha Lobo, the joint secretary of the student council.
