Two-wheeler rams into bus in Kerala; driver recognises stolen bike, catches thief

Udayamperoor, Sep 11: A thief who tried to escape with a stolen bike met with an accident on Thursday. Interestingly, the thief met with an accident with a KSRTC bus which was being driven by the owner of the stolen bike.

The thief encountered the owner of the bike on Thursday evening near Nadakkavu at Udayamperoor. The bike hit the rear side of KSRTC and skidded off the road. Biju Ani Xavier, the KSRTC bus driver, noticed his stolen bike while trying to help the man who met with the accident.

Xavier the bus driver whose bike was stolen from the parking area at Kottayam KSRTC depot was confident that it was nabbed by the same thief. Following this, he questioned the accused identified as Jijo, a native of Changanassery.

Udayamperoor police reached the spot and took the thief into custody. Police also recovered four mobile phones from the accused.

The thief was later handed over to the Kottayam west police were Xavier had earlier lodged a complaint regarding his stolen bike.
