Mumbai, Sep 11: A revelation made by bollywood actor Akshay Kumar says that he drinks cow urine everyday for ayurvedic reasons.
The actor is currently shooting for his upcoming movie 'BellBottom' in Scotland with Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta Bhupathi. Therein he joined Bear Grylls, British adventurer and host for an Instagram Live to talk about jungle adventure with him.
On Huma's query on what convinced him to drink cow urine, Akshay said, "I wasn't worried. I was too excited to be worried. I have cow urine because of ayurvedic reasons every day, so that was okay." This led to a number of fans google if indeed cow urine had medicinal properties.
The benefits and curing properties of cow urine such as cancer has been an ongoing debate. Some politicians had even recommended drinking of cow urine to protect themselves from the ongoing novel coronavirus.
BJP MP Dilip Ghosh from West Bengal had claimed that cow urine could cure coronavirus. In a statement made by the MP in July stated, "If I talk about cows, people fall sick. I tell them a donkey will not understand the worth of cow. This is India, the land of Lord Krishna and here cows are God, we worship. We will have cow urine to stay healthy. Take ayurvedic medicine and don't worry."
However, scientists have repeatedly debunked all such claims.
