Bahrain: DK Muslim Welfare Association Annual Cricket Tourney Begins

Bahrain, Apr 3: Dakshina Kannada Muslim Welfare Association (DKMWA) began their annual cricket tournament on Friday April 2 at Juffair Grounds apposite Al Fateh Grand Mosque.

Abdul Razak, president, DKMWA, along with his committee members, inaugurated the tournament.

Twenty teams are playing on a league basis and the finals will be on Friday April 9. The winners will get a trophy along with $444 and the runners-up will receive a trophy and $ 222.




















DKMWA has also decided to give trophies to all the winners and runner-up teams.

Senior members S Kamal, Khalil Basha, K S Sayed, Rashid Idris, Ummer Shahib, Abu Baqer, P A Karim, and Farooq Shahib were present during the inaugural function.

B M Sharief Bolar, Ashoka Shetty of Creative, and Imtiaz Tasleem are the main sponsors of the tournament. 

The participating teams are as follows:

Karnataka Challengers, Indian Star, DKMW A-B, GECOM, Mangalore Boys, Basava Samithi, Dezart, B K Friends, DKMW A-A, ICICI Bank, Ramee, CRI NACRI Boys, E.M Décor, Kannada Sangha, Nass, Thunder Shooters, Adliya CC, Shaheen Group, Bunts Bahrain, and KDPA.
