Mangalore, Apr 4: Mandd Sobhann, leading Konkani cultural organization is all set to create another record on April 4, 2010 when it hosts 100th monthly theatre event at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar at sharp 6.00pm IST .
Daijiworld.com will put in all efforts to bring the event live on internet through its internet tv segment 'tvdaijiworld'.
The celebration of 100th event, 'Sadhan Shembor' will include the best of Konkani songs of a period spanning more than 100 years, from 1900 to 2010. The songs will be presented by a set of Goan and local Konkani artistes. The songs have been picked from the dominant Konkani speaking regions of Goa, Mumbai and Mangalore and other parts of India as well.
The nearly three hour-long programme will be interspersed with dances by the Mandd Sobhann troupe. Leading Hindi cine singer Anuradha Paudwal will be the chief guest on the occasion.
During the event Mandd Sobhann will release a book 'Konkani music - Yesterday, today and its future' researched and written by Neeta Rebello, 21-year-old young Konkani activist from Moodubelle. Also there will be a short programme to pay tribute to Konkani singing legend Wilfy Rebimbus who passed away last month.
Internet facilities with over 256kb broadband speed will be able to watch live streams through Daijiworld.
