Kuwait, Sep 14: Blood Bank Kuwait and Indian Social Forum (ISF) Kuwait jointly organised a mass blood donation camp on Friday, September 11, from 1 pm to 6 pm in Al Adan Blood bank here.
Indian Social Forum Kuwait, Karnataka unit president Janab Mustakeem Shiroor who inaugurated the blood donation camp maintained that blood donation is the need of the hour. "As there is scarcity of blood in Kuwait blood banks, non-resident Indians should take part in large numbers in the donating the blood,” he said.
The non-resident Indians in Kuwait who took part enthusiastically since the beginning were found arriving in groups to donate blood till the evening. Nearly 100 NRIs donated blood irrespective of religion while adhering to Covid regulations.
A doctor from Al Adan Blood bank Dr Rania Ibrahim commended the discipline and services of ISF office bearers and volunteers. Badr Al Samaa Medical Centre manager Abdul Razak said that the work by ISF officers is an inspiration and hoped for several such pro-people programmes to come forth.
The next blood donation camp to be conducted by ISF will be held in Jabriya Blood bank, Jabriya on September 25 from 1 pm to 6 pm.
