Puttur: St Philomena College student Snigdha bags first prize in Hindi elocution competition

Puttur, September 15: St Philomena College student Snigdha won the first prize in Mangaluru University level elocution competition held as part of Hindi Divas celebrations.

The competitions were held by Dr Dayananda Pai, Dr Sathish Pai of Government First Grade College, Car Street, Mangaluru and Government First Grade College Sullia for the first time, inviting video of the speech prepared by the students at home between September 7 and September 12. Nearly 40 students from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Madikeri districts took part. In the end, the judges selected five winners.

The results were announced on September 14 on Hindi Divas. Snigdha from St Philomena College won the first prize, Udupi’s Trisha College student Shrathi Srikanth won second prize. The third prize was shared by three students. They were Mangaluru Canara College student Pavitra Nayak, Sullia Government First Grade College student Pallavi K and Mangaluru Car Street Dr Dayananda Pai, P Sathish Pai Government First Grade College student Nisar Ahmed.

The prizes included cash and online certificates. The competitions were organised by Dr Shivarama P of Mangaluru Car Street College and Ramakrishna K S, assistant professor of Sullia Government First Grade College.
