Moodbidri: Inauguration of ISTE Chapter at Dr MVSIT

Moodbidri, Apr 7: A programme was organized by Dr M V Shetty Institute of Technology (MVSIT) on Monday April 5, in connection with the inaugural of the ISTE Chapter there.

Chief guest of the function, Dr N R Shetty, president, Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi, inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. Dr M R Shetty, secretary, Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust (MVST), presided over the function. Dr Chandrashekar Shetty, administrative officer of MVSIT, and principal, Dr Sandeep Nayak, were on the dais.

Dr N R Shetty commented in his address, that a college without any research programme, is like a temple without the presiding deity. He requested the students to be creative and innovative, to be able to face challenges posed by globalization. He said that India is a young country, as the number of people below 35 years of age is the highest here in the entire world. On the basis of this, he predicted that India will rise to the No.1 spot in the world within a decade from now.

Dr N R Shetty advised the students to visit ISTE website and to start ‘Students ISTE-Chapter’ and also explained about the advantages of becoming an ISTE member.

Dr Shetty then released the technical report ‘Characterization of small scale irrigation scheme’ prepared by  Dr Sandeep Nayak and appreciated the technical as well as the faculty seminar report.

Dr M Ramagopal Shetty, secretary, MVST, advised the faculty members to organize regular meetings of ISTE to update their knowledge. He also released the faculty seminar report.

Toppers of the third semester were felicitated by ISTE Chapter-MVSIT.

Sruthi welcomed, Prof Purushothama C T presented the report of ISTE. John Paul Vas introduced the chief guest and Vinod proposed vote of thanks.
