First Liquor Shop Opens in Delhi Mall


New Delhi, Apr 10 (IANS): The Delhi government opened the first retail liquor shop in a shopping mall in south Delhi.

The shop called 'High Times' in DLF Mall in Saket, was opened by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSSIDC).

"On sale (in the shop) are imported foreign liquor comprising around 200 brands, imported beer (around 10 brands) and IMFL and beer brands. The outlet is expected to attract visitors of the Commonwealth Games also," a Delhi government statement said.

"The shop is fully air-conditioned and will have a professional staff. It has been designed keeping in mind international standards. It has been computerized with a billing and bar-coding scanning facility," it added.

More such shops will come up in other malls soon.

There is a separate section for imported wine with provisions to maintain the correct temperature, it said. The DSIIDC now runs 103 liquor vends in Delhi.
