Bantwal, Oct 3: “Patchwork on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway that is unfit for traffic should be stopped. The road should be tarred completely and made motorable. If not, the four-lane highway work should begin again,” stated Bantwal block SDPI. It has given 20 days time limit for the work.
SDPI district chief secretary Sahul Hameed speaking in the news conference in B C Road said that patchwork on the highway is of no use. “Therefore, the road should be tarred," he said.
The four-lane work on NH 75 Hassan-Sakleshpur and Gundya – B C Road has stopped for the last one and a half years. Accidents are occurring every day due to potholes. The silence of the MPs, MLAs and district in-charge minister indicates their attitude toward ordinary people here,” criticized Bantwal SDPI president Yusuf Aladka. “Protests by 8 Vidhan sabha constituencies at Nelyadi, Uppinangadi, Mani, Kalladka, Melkar etc will be held blocking the road if the road is not tarred within the next 20 days,” he warned. Bantwal councilor Monish Ali and chief secretary Kalandar Parthipady were present at the news conference.
