Yogi recommends CBI probe in Hathras incident

Lucknow, Oct 3 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday recommended a CBI probe into the Hathras gang-rape incident.

The decision came after a high-level meeting of the concerned officials.

"For intensive investigation of the unfortunate incident at Hathras and all connected issues, this case is being recommended by @UPGovt to be probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). We are determined to deliver the harshest punishment to all those responsible for this incident," Adityanath tweeted.

The state government has suspended five policemen including the SP in the case but politics on the issue has heated up. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Director General of Police Hitesh Awasthi and Additional Chief Secretary Home Avneesh Awasthi also met the family members of the victim earlier on Saturday. They submitted their report to the Chief Minister and subsequently a CBI investigation has been recommended

First and foremost the name of the beast who ordered midnight cremation of the body should be made public and that official should be summarily executed. There cannot be justice without rooting out such evil men.

    Mr. Hegde,
Who was in power from May 2014, why ur new Govt did not executed the punishment when it is pronounced in 2013. Will she get the justice ? No hope, coz people do not have trust and faith in UP Govt or Central Govt. Only in papers or in media.

Hope the authorities haven't threatened the family to make false statements or promised money or held a person or asset as ransom at gun point?!?!?!?.......Because ultimately yogi and his men have to be proved innocent and should get clean chit whatever may be the case. Waiting for RG and PGV statements after meeting the family.
