Kundapur: 27-year-old journalist dies after brief illness

Kundapur, Oct 4: A young reporter died here on Saturday, October 3 following a brief illness.

Harish (27), a resident of Hosadu Kelakumbri, was a reporter with a local newspaper.

Harish, who has worked for the past several years in the news collection, dissemination and advertising section of the local newspaper had a good rapport with the public. He was also the member of the taluk's Working Journalists' Association.

Harish was admitted to Ajjarkad hospital two days ago after he fell sick. However, he died due to multiple organ failure on Saturday, October 3.

The mortal remains were brought to his residence at Hosadu. After making arrangements for the public viewing of his dead body, last rites were performed as per tradition.

Harish is survived by his parents, two elder sisters and scores of friends and well-wishers.

Shashidhar Hemmady, president of Kundapur taluk Working Journalists' Association and Nagaraja Rayappana Mata, secretary paid a visit to Harish's residence and expressed condolences to his family members.

Shashidhar Hemmady informed that a condolence meeting for Harish, who was a member of the Kundapur taluk Working Journalists' Association, will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 5 at the office of the association.
