Qatar: ICBF Extends Help Desk Facilities at Al Khor

Qatar, Apr 17: Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) has implemented its new venture of extending the help desk facilities at Al khor. On setting up the ICBF Help desk at Indian Embassy premises at Doha since April 2006 , the requirement of  providing similar facilities for the needy and deserving members of the Indian community at satellite towns, Al Khor , Dukhan and Ummsaid were strongly felt as major portion of the people working for industries were staying in these towns.

Accordingly the Al Khor Help Desk was opened from Friday April 16 onwards to provide the following facilities to the needy and deserving members of the Indian community residing at Al Khor and Ras Laffan areas. Further the Dukhan Help Desk has been planned to start at Zekreet area from May 1 onwards which will be followed by Ummsaid Help Desk to extend the help desk facilities in all Industrial towns of Qatar   and Repatriation Air Ticket to India for any deserving person for deportation. Further the financial travel assistance (in addition to Air tickets) for traveling from  the airport to his/her home town  in India can be provided on case by case basis.
 
Financial assistance for dependent family members who die at Qatar, legal and immigration assistance and other minor assistance will be made available. Financial assistance for hospitalization in Qatar or back home in India due to critical disease or due to partial disability for the deserving cases too will be made available.
 
Medical referral to poly clinics in Al Khor too will be set up so that any such deserving patient can be treated. The charges for making government health cards for the deserving persons shall also be reimbursed by ICBF.
 
Enrollment of accidental insurance policy for the local workers to cover against death or disability, food supplies or immediate financial assistance for daily meals to stranded labourers too will be made available.
 
The Al Khor Help Desk has been permanently opened at premises opposite to Al Khor Main Mosque (behind Tourist Travels ) to operate on every Tuesday 6 to 8 pm and Friday 4 to 6 pm. Hence ICBF Al Khor unit has been recently formed by representatives from local socio– cultural organizations and individuals residing at Al Khor who will operate the help desk on regular basis. The help desk was inaugurated by Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa , Ambassador of India to Qatar in presence of Saad bin Abdullah Hamad Al Misnad, chairman, MAM Trading and Contracting and other distinguished personalities on Friday April 16  evening.

Ambassador in her speech applauded ICBF for expanding their activities to meet the growing demand of the needy members of the Indian community at every corners of Qatar. ICBF president Nilangshu Dey briefed about the present role of ICBF for the needy and underprivileged members and its forthcoming ventures to extend various benevolent activities among the community members. Al Khor Unit’s representative Krishna Kumar addressed about the Al Khor Desk operation for the benefit of local workers and their plan to provide immediate assistances based on its need.
