Bengaluru, Oct 8: Judge of the state High Court Justice Suraj Govindaraj has recused himself from hearing a petition filed by former state minister K J George seeking to quash the hearing going on against him in the people's representatives special court here.
A petition filed by George seeking to cancel the summons served on him for appearance in the court came up before a judge of a bench with Justice Suraj Govindaraj in the chair. The judge announced that he would recuse himself from hearing the petition and instructed the registrar general of the court to place the petition before another bench.
George has claimed that the jurisdictional court has erred in taking cognizance of the case. The advocate representing George sought the quashing of the order rejecting CBI report absolving George and also the summons seeking personal his appearance in the court.
The court has dismissed both the reports submitted by the CID and CBI in the case.
