Bahrain: Family Day at Sacred Heart Church Celebrated

by Hilary Tellis

Bahrain, Apr 20:
The Sacred Heart Church organized Family day 2010, a get-together on the parish grounds, recently.

The theme for the event was "Make your families a sanctuary for priests." The annual event attracted thousands of people from all walks of life. The soft opening was at 10.00 am with a prayer. The Indian School band in their smart attire and glittering musical instruments entertained the crowds and boosted their spirits.

There were a lot of activities lined up for the day such as cultural folk dances, fancy dress competitions and personality contest where the young and old had an opportunity to showcase their talent.

There were also variety of stalls put up for food, games, lucky-dips, novelties, music dedications and applying of henna among others.

The grand official opening was at 7.00 pm.  The event provided an opportunity for a day of wholesome entertainment, fellowship and togetherness for the entire parish community.

It was a wonderful day indeed. The aroma of home made food was awesome. 'Sanna & Dukra maas' was mouth watering. Though exhausted, the volunteers were cheerful and with hospitable smile. Games, lucky dips, entertainment....was a spirit filled day for all the Parishoners of Sacred Heart Church.
