Dubai : 7th Graduation Day of Madonna University Held

Dubai, Apr 21: The Middle East & Indian Regional Campuses of the Madonna University in cooperation with the London American City College conducted its 7th Graduation Ceremony, 2010 at the Jumierah Ballroom, Crowne Plaza Five Star Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.  The Graduation Ceremony started with the Graduation March Pass followed by the UAE National Anthem. The 7th Graduation Ceremony was attended by the Rev. Sister Dr. Rose Marie Kujawa, President of the Madonna University and Dr. Ernest I. Nolan, Vice President & Provost, Madonna University.  Dr. Kaup Mohamed (who hails from Kaup, Udupi District), the Dean of the Middle East & Indian Regional Campuses welcomed Sister Dr. Rose Marie, Dr. Nolan from the Madonna University, all the distinguished guests including industry officials, faculty members & staff members, parents and all the students during the Graduation Ceremony. 

The Madonna University is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges, USA. and is one of the America’s Top universities as per the U.S. News and World Report 2010, edition.  Prof. Dr. Paulson Paulson Mathew Chunkapura, President of the Middle East & Indian Regional Campuses delivered a presidential address during the 7th Graduation Ceremony.  Prof. Dr. Paulson Mathew emphasized the great importance of studying accredited world Class Madonna University degree programmes and asserted that “our college provides the most unique degree programs in the Middle East and our  graduates have clear edge over others.  They have greater value in the global market place.  Today, the world’s largest global corporations prefer to appoint the managers with top class American degrees only.  Prof. Dr. Kaup Mohamed said “Planning career means first acquiring the competencies relevant for the desired career path.  No competency means, there is no career for the people.”


















































Faculty, Dr. T.J. Joseph and students namely Ms. Anjali Paulson, Ms. Mala Bhatia, Mr. Sabareesh Nair, Dr. Khaleel, Ms. Christina and Ms. Saidya Siddque addressed the gathering.  Rev. Sister Rose Marie the President of MU and Dr. Nolan, the Vice President & Provost of the Madonna University congratulated all the students for receiving their degrees from the MU.  A Special Award of Felicitation was presented to Rev. Sister Dr. Rose Marie and Dr. Nolan for developing higher education in India and Middle East Region.  A special congratulatory award was presented to Dr. Paulson and Dr. Kaup for setting up their new institution namely London American City College on behalf of the Madonna University.

The faculty and staff members were also applauded with an Appreciation Award.  Student’s Academic Excellence Awards and Medal for Academic Achievement for 2010 batch was presented to the students who received Honors, High Honors and Highest Honors distinction title. Students’ leadership and exemplary service awards was also presented to the students for their service to the community development.  Students’ excellence in sports awards were issued to the students who excelled in the sports games such as cricket, volley ball etc.  Students who performed cultural program were also felicitated with a medal of honor.  


Around 300 students received their concerned qualifications during the 7th Graduation Ceremony.  There were several students in the graduation ceremony who hailed from the Karnataka State. There are several international centres of the above University in the Middle East and in India (such as Maharashtra, Kerala, Delhi etc.) managed by Prof. Dr. Paulson and Prof. Dr. Kaup Mohamed.  Dr. Kaup stated that a new International Centre for the above universities and colleges will be opened very soon in the South Kanara district to provide the students with an international opportunity of completing their US & UK education in India. The students were issued with the Certification in Business Administration, Diploma in Business Administration, Advanced Diploma in Business Administration from the London College and Bachelors’ Degree and the MBA degree from the Madonna University, USA.  

60% of the students received their Bachelors’ degree with HONOURS title. Professionals from Industries, Universities, Colleges & Schools were present on the eve of 7th Graduation Ceremony.  The list included Mr. Nobel Polath, COO, Tawseel Group, Mr. Brian Ashby, MD, SAB – Time Times & The Sunday Times, UK, Dr. B.K. Yusuf, Director, MEPHA, Switzerland, Prof. David Ipe, Prof Abid Choudhary, Mr. Bipin, Mr. Shodan, Mr. Rajvin, Prof. Molly Rajan, Prof. S.J. Jacob, Mrs. Malathy Das, Mrs. Shoba Mohan, Dr. Jovan, Mr. Sebastian, Mr. Thomas Mathew, Mr. Haneef Kaup, Mr. M.E. Moolur, Mr. Abhoosalih, Mr. Sheikh Shareef, Mr. Latif Mulky, Mr. Ganesh Rai and several other dignatories. Dr. Stuart Ernest, Dean of School of Business of the Madonna University also conveyed his best wishes to the graduating students.  


Dr. Kaup conveyed the following recommendations to the alumni students: 

‘The “right” reason to accomplish a great job is due to love and dedication towards the cherished goals.  Therefore, do have a set of lively goals for achievement.’


‘You should raise your standards by focusing on foundation, creativity, international exposure, live projects, internship, etc.’


‘Everything you experience today is the result of your choices and hard work.  Dear students, foster discipline and should provide 100% concentration to your work, use academic materials for jobs and go for further education without a break.’


‘Never limit your vision, be a high achiever and have bigger visions. The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.’


‘Complete your task on time and then you will feel relaxed.’

‘When our value system is clear, decision making becomes much easier.’

‘You should be loyal to your University, Professors and the Employers throughout your life and learn more creative points from them. ‘


The second part of program included Cultural Festival which started at 10pm and ended at 1.30 am.  During the Cultural Festival students presented various programs such as group dances, solo dance, songs, Fashion show etc. wherein one of the student was a participant of ‘Dance India Dance’ competition of Zee TV.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks and grand buffet dinner on eve of the Graduation Ceremony.
