Mangaluru, Oct 14: The IEEE Srinivas University Student Branch arranged a webinar on 'The Benefits of IEEE-An Academic Perspective'. Dr R ThamaraiSelvi, head, department of Computer Applications and Associate Dean of Research, Bishop Heber College (Autonomous) Tiruchirappalli, was the resource person. In her speech, she explained the advantages of being an IEEE member.
"IEEE includes highly-quoted publications. IEEE provides more than 30 percent of the world's science literature. The goal of the IEEE is to provide young researchers with learning opportunities. The publication is a vital aspect of research since it is the culmination of the individual's research work. An IEEE member may have access to a large repository of digital knowledge to gain more information on the topic of interest. IEEE is a reliable research source. If each researcher becomes an IEEE member, with the help of several authoring tools, high-quality research papers can be written easily.Findability, credibility, and flexibility are the key features of IEEE papers. More than 11 million downloads per month are the testimony to the quality of IEEE papers. By referring the scholarly articles one can improve the knowledge and get updated” she said.
Dr A Jayanthila Devi, professor, CCIS and director, Industry Relations and International Research Collaborations, branch advisor IEEE SU SB welcomed the guests and participants. She introduced the resource person to the participants.
Dr Krisha Prasad K, ssociate professor & Director-College Research Council, CCIS, Srinivas University, Mangaluru, and Branch Counselor, IEEE Srinivas University Student Branch proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Divya Naveen, chair, membership committee Srinivas University Student Branch.
The programme was attended by approximately 80 participants, including members of the Srinivas University student branch, College of Computer Science and Information Science Research Scholars.
