I Won't Resign, Let them Remove me : Modi

New Delhi, Apr 24 (IANS) : Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi put up a defiant front Saturday, saying he will not resign despite pressure mounting for his head.

Modi has been in the eye of a storm following his comments on the Kochi franchise which resulted in the resignation of junior foreign minister Shashi Tharoor.

"People pressurising me to resign - I can tell you, (it) will not happen. Let them remove me then," Modi tweeted.

"What we have done has been there for all of you to see for the past 4 years. No one can take that away."

Modi also lashed out at media for carrying "baseless stories" about IPL.

"Media putting stories without verification, goes to show how media can misuse their power. Don't get influenced by all these baseless stories."

Politics today is politics for only money. Those who are trying to remove the speck from Modi's eyes must first remove it from their own eyes. What is the guarantee that his successor will not do the same? They are not fooling us, we are fools ourselves. Take a drink, have a good meal and spend quality time with your family and loved ones. Whatever is happening in the IPL world will continue to happen even after we are gone to grave. Only today is yours and not tomorrow. Why stress yourself? Can you change the world? NO ! Then go to sleep and wake up early for a new day.

Modi first of all comes from a very rich business family.

He made IPL into a big successful brand but actually borrowed the idea from Subhash Chandra of Zee and Kapil Dev and due to money from BCCI he could convert into a success.

Only a enterprising & shrewd guy with extraordinary connections in the corporate, film and political world could make it happen.

All was good for him until success went to his head and revealed Shashi Tharoor's name thinking that nothing can happen to him.

He has to go for sure but I do not think Shashank Manohar is a ideal replacement for him. Better to close IPL itself.

People are jelous seeing modi has made jet, benz etc. People siting in germany talks as if people in india shouldnt make money and the same people in germany makes it enough and do not care about the poor in India. But when an indian gets a filthy commision he has to spend everything for the poor! There is a lot money spent on charity and for the poor from IPL, there are many people who get jobs and many cities new club is growing and related busniess mainly hotel etc are growing!! why to make a fuzz on this issue. There are many NCP leaers too made money from IPL . Government cant do anything just because there will not be a congress government if truth comes out.

Modi exactly knows the inside story. He knows that BCCI will not touch him because he is dead sure what is going to follow. He has done his homework well when all others were sleeping.Good Luck BCCI you suported his cause to outst someone who tried to good for Indian cricket. He has the guts to challenge the BCCI for he has excellent backing of money power.

Modi's fortune 100 crores only in one deal. There are number of deals... He should be sacked & jailed. He is not less than Harshad mehta. All involved must be punished for breaching public money and property. Corruption must be wiped off.

Many say IPL is what it is because of Modi. He did his research very well over 8 yrs. It is mainly his hard work and brains that have worked and people took the risk prior to 1st IPL. If he had done his homework and he himself had risked investing in 3 IPL teams, what is wrong with it? On the other hand if he has broken legal rules of financing and kickbacks, then they must be prooved beyond doubt and he must be prosecuted.

Lalit Modi should not be removed. He may be corrupt, he may have his relatives as stake holders but IPL is IPL only because of Lalit K Modi. If anyone else was in his place, they too would have done the same thing.

Lalit Modi must be removed form his post. He is a menace to the society. His fortune must be 100
crores by now. He is always with film-stars. Now the "Bobby" Vijay Malya is also suporting him. All the same playboys types. Millions of people are struggling to live and these people swimm in crores and show off. India needs brave persons to help remove the poverty and not show spending lavisly where people are almost starving.

Guys have patience, Do you think with out the knowledge of the governing council, he has made all these decisions. It’s crystal clear with governing council’s blessings he has done all these. So the share goes to each of the members of governing council. Till date, why, arun jaitley is quiet, because he had his share. Hungry lions always hunt. Now it is just a gimmick, you scratch my back and I yours. Till date IT and ED were napping. Guys no one is worried about the AAM ADMI, Its just a INDIAN PAISA LEAGE. Its as simple as that.

Mr. Modi, can you explain why the investors happened to be from one nation which is owned by a company in another … and in the end that turn out to be having connection to you, your kith & kin?
We all appreciate you of your skill in conducting IPL in the last three years into a big fat profitable brand.
We also appreciate the way you pooled in proxy investors from different parts of the world through more improvised skill of floating multiple companies, one company being owned by another which is again owned by another and so on … to bring a big fat Investments, Kick-offs, Profits & total authority of IPL into your lap. That is where you went wrong.

L.Modi have may be an edge on other VIP politicians and may be waiting strike them!!

This man is really a corrupt, high flying, fooling BCCI officials and in nexuses with Franchises making illgotten health.

He have private jet, fleet of BMW,BEMZ......staying 5 star suites having left and right Bolliwood Actresses!!!

If for unforseen reason,L.Modi have given second chance the cricket will become a lottery or gamble game.He should be sacked immediatly and suspended from all his post from IPL/BCCI pending enquiry.
