Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 21: The secretary in urban development department has conveyed to all the deputy commissioners, sub divisional officers and tahsildars in the state about the stay granted to certain elections issued by the state high court on October 19.

The government had earlier issued notifications fixing reservation criteria for the election of presidents and vice presidents of municipalities and town panchayats in the state.

He has drawn the attention of the said officials towards the interim order passed by the state high court when hearing certain writ petitions filed against the reservation criteria fixed for the above elections. As the high court has stayed the notification about reservation criteria fixed for the presidents and vice presidents of municipalities and town panchayats in the state, the officials have been asked to take suitable steps to abide by the order.
