Bengaluru: State government releases new guidelines for online classes

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Oct 22: Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the state government had started online classes for the students. However, it came to light that online classes are creating eye problems for the children. The state government then contacted eye specialists immediately and has issued new guidelines for the online classes.

Minister Suresh Kumar has written a letter in this regard to the commissioner of public instruction department in which he has instructed the commissioner to conduct online classes as per the guidance and report accordingly. In addition, minister Suresh Kumar has also sent a detailed circular to all the schools in Karnataka. This is done by the state government keeping in mind the well being of the students.

Parents of students had complained that online education is causing ill effect on the health of children. Even then some schools have not adopted the report that is sent by experts. The schools are following their own style of online teaching, which is causing problems to the eyes of students.

Now the schools have been given strict orders to follow the online education guideline. As per the report, offline education needs to be given priority and online education should be complimentary. It is recommended to implement online education in the state as per the guidelines of the Centre.

Important points in the report that has been provided by the expert committee to the government are as follows:

*Online education should be in a limit. Online classes should not be conducted the whole day.
*Classes should be conducted in both online and offline modes.
*Online education should be considered temporary in the wake of coronavirus pandemic. This is not permanent solution.
*Online education should not be continued once the schools open officially.
*As of now online education should be imparted as per the guidelines of the union government.
*Online communication with parents of pre-primary school children, not extending beyond 30 minutes, should be held once a week.
*For Class 1 to 5 two periods of 30 to 55 minutes should be held on alternate days for a maximum of three days in a week.
*For Class 6 to 8 two periods of 30 to 45 minutes should be held per day for a maximum of five days in a week.
*For Class 9 and 10 four periods of 30 to 45 minutes should be held per day for a maximum of five days in a week.

Are these politicians really worried about the well being of students? Or worried about the profit derived from the educational institutions? Those who give guidelines and support them must be having many educational institutions... So, even if they suffer from covid...they keep on issuing guidelines.. One one-day they show up with one one reason... First they took opinion from psychologists, then appeared educational experts with the statement that usage of mobile makes students depressed, then came child right wit the excuses child marriages/child labour/child trafficking...then came parents opine offline classes better now eye specialists... Before anything dear minister and concerned people who I have mentioned here, go please check the schools/colleges whether they have sufficient washrooms /water/ventilators/fans/school buses. If not start the work.... These people have not given the birth for thousand of students to put their lives into trouble... risky. If you want to reopen arrange school bus services to each and every student....

These politicians are making rules which is suitable for them. Most of the educational institutions are run by these politicians and their relatives. They wanted to squeez the money from parents so they started online classes. Now they rcvd their target. Now they will take classes for one hour a day. That's it. Problem is with our system not with covid 19. Since the day govt asked private hospitals to handle the case covid positives started to shoot up. All these thugs have connections.
I pity on us who elect leaders on the basis of religion cast language etc. These thugs are enjoying and we common people are suffering with no job no business no income nothing only expenses are rising day by day.

First, the concerned authority should prepare a monthly calender for each class. It should include what should be taught and how it should be. Self study materials (printable) should be prepared. Only that much should be taught.
