Kundapur, Oct 24: “Vandse gram panchayat has become a model for the state by the successful implementation of SLRM. People from Nepal, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal visit here conducting the study. Several days have passed since the illegal shifting of the self-help tailoring training centre. But the local MLA has not called the local women to speak to them and sort out the case. The serial protests will continue in order to provide justice to women,” said former MLA K Gopala Poojary.
He addressed the issue on serial protests by Kundapur taluk panchayat raj Okkoota and other organizations condemning the illegal shifting of self-help ‘swavalambana’ professional training centre in Vandse.
“Udayakumar Shetty had implemented the schemes provided by the district administration even though he was sick. The local MLA should have been happy looking at the nearby village becoming a model in the state. But the MLA persuaded the officials and got the centre shifted. The MLA should learn how to remain in public life,” he said.
“I have not intervened in your matters for the last two and a half years. I had to intervene as you acted against women. You first set right your party before speaking against others. We will appoint your party’s sincere activists into our party from today,” he said.
Udupi district Raitha Sangha spokesperson Vikas Hegde said that there was a rule even during the era of Mahabharath epic that there should be no war after sunset. “But Udupi district panchayat executive has ordered for shifting the centre at 6.30 pm,” he said.
