Daijiworld Media Network—Mangalore (CN)
Mangalore, Apr 28: The thousand-year-old Kananjar ‘Doddamane’ with its rich heritage and unique culture makes its family members proud.
The Doddamane, which contains unique wooden carvings and huge pillars of wood in the court hall, is today in a dilapidated state and portions of the house have also collapsed.
Members of the family today number over a thousand and are planning to join hands to reconstruct the ruined house with the support of the locals.
On the occasion of the annual ‘pooja’ of the ‘Nagabrahma Sthana’, scheduled for Wednesday May 5, a meeting will be held at 2 pm at the Sri Brahmalingeshwara Temple to discuss and decide on ways and means of conducting the reconstruction.
The family has invited opinions, suggestions, and guidance from interested parties on this occasion.
The Mula Naga Brahmasthana and Sri Brahmalingeshwara, Veerabhadra Melbanta Gudis, have been rebuilt with the help of family members, villagers, deities, and donors.
